Hey everybody! Today I'm going to talk to you about ExpressVPN for Android.
I’m quite a privacy minded person, so when i’m going online when i’m away from home, anyone can quite easily steal my data. This makes me feel a bit uneasy when I’m online in a coffee shop, or walking to work…especially since I do a lot of my online banking via mobile now. More frequently I listen to music on the way to work as well, ExpressVPN lets me unblock Spotify as well, and obviously as a songwriter this is quite beneficial for me. I was recommended to download a VPN, and I chose ExpressVPN in the Google Play store. I’m not entirely technical, so I wanted to test it before I bought it and they offer a 24 hours free version which was nice as well.
Overall speed of the VPN is quite fast, and I haven’t had any problems – but I’d advise on trialling the service first as I’ve heard that speeds largely depend on what country you’re in and which servers you're connecting to.
There are a whole load of settings as well, which once you get into can be quite nice…Such as adding the widget to your home screen. The app remembers the last location that you connected to which is awesome as it saves me opening up the app everyday.
I'm personally using it to unblock Spotify and other apps, so I just use the US servers. But sometimes I connect to the UK server to watch Dr. Who on BBC iPlayer, but there are many many servers you can choose to connect to so it really depends on your needs.
Overall it’s pretty cheap, and comes in at around $8 per month for the yearly plan, which isn’t much.
I can also use the VPN on as many devices as I like so have ExpressVPN installed on my PC as well.
There are probably cheaper services out there, but given the level of customer support, the vast selection of servers, I’d recommend ExpressVPN for any Android user.
